Wedding Photography and Engagements, that is what my Facebook followers have seen the entire year. I have had a successful wedding season. Yay! And as I look back on this Halloween Day I remember last year. This time last year I took a trip to New Orleans. I had signed up for a workshop with the award winning Jason Lanier and I had a session scheduled at the famous Oak Alley Plantation. I invited my mother to join me for the road trip 🙂 Yes it was her first trip and it did not disappoint.
The photography workshop included a after hours shoot in New Orleans Metairie Cemetery! It a special event to be allowed in the cemetery after dark. The images that appear to be “ghostly” are created with the stroboscopic flash effect. This is a long exposure with the camera on a tripod and the flash pulsing as the model walks. Jason Lanier is a photographer that is considered to be an expert in off camera lighting. I wanted to learn as much as I could in preparation for the upcoming wedding season.
And then there is Oak Alley Plantation. It was so beautiful with a oak trees planted in the early 1700’s. I would love to photograph a wedding at Oak Alley! New Orleans has so much character and is a photographer’s dream! I have learned so much in this last year and I can’t wait to go back and create a romantic southern plantation session.
